Natalie is 6 weeks old! Lots of big happenings this week. The best one is that she has been several car rides without getting upset! I've taken a few tentative trips to the library and other minor errands, with the intention of going home if she got too upset. Nope! She stayed calm throughout the trip. I've put her in her car seat at home while she's really happy and taken her out while she's still happy, and I think that helped. This definitely lessens my anxiety about going places.
Natalie weighs 10lb, 3oz. She's finally graduated from the newborn diapers, but I have to say that size 1 still looks a bit large. She's outgrown most of her newborn clothes.
Another big milestone: she is now sleeping in her crib. Her room is so near ours that she might as well be in our room, but it is nice to go to bed at a leisurely pace instead of having to quietly go in with all the lights already off. It was an easy transition for her, and only slightly anxiety-provoking for us!
One of those places that Natalie went was to Taylor's company's Halloween party at lunchtime on Monday. She did so well there that I took her to the Speech and Hearing department to return a dish to a friend, and she did just as well! She smiled and looked at everyone, and everyone of course thought she was the most beautiful baby. Ah, the relief of knowing that we do not have to be sequestered in the house!
The heart-shaped birthmark has darkened!
A sweet video of our smiley baby.
