Blech!! We hiked up Sabino Canyon in Tucson with some friends on Saturday, August 18. Little did we know that this guy would be waiting for us on the way: a five-foot diamondback rattlesnake. Lucky for us, he had just come out of the water, so he wasn't about to start any raucous. Anyway, these pics are for Pete and Heather, who, if they are anything like me, will shamelessly double-check their beds tonight--just in case. Oh, and see if you can spot the diamond on the snake's back in the following pictures. (Or not.)
