Hi everyone! Today (Sunday, July 23), we got to visit the Santa Catalina Mountains with our friends Jeff and Heidi Stevenson from church. The Catalinas are just north of Tucson, and are a great way to escape the heat; the 6000-foot elevation difference between the top of the mountains and the desert floor where Tucson is located is 25 to 30 degrees. There is a road that leads right to the top of the mountains from Tucson, and within an hours drive from our apartment, we can be at 9000 feet, enjoying the views and the cool breeze. Surprisingly, there is also a ski area at the top of the mountain, which is mostly black to double-black diamond slopes due to the rocky terrain and cliffs and such. Anyway, we hope you enjoy the pictures.
Love to all,
Christine and Taylor
